A present for my classmate's 17 years old brother. He's got serious problems with health for more than a year already - sarcoma on the heart... All this time the boy managed to be optimistic and keep his belief in his recovery, he also was (and is) supporting his family... And he's getting better and better! Chemistry helps ) And I do believe, that everything will be ok )) So.. Let the gryphon, as a symbol of strength, confidence in one's powers and victory guide his way. Nothing will happen to me, but someone out there will be pleased.. Good luck to you, Levon )

this is my first attempt using, "Easy Paint Tool SAI". If anyone has any tips, tricks or links for video tutorials please pass then along, This will eventually be colored. Comparing this to inking in Flash, this has more versatility and depth, but Flash is faster, and resolution independent. Inking in Sai, seemed to take as long as it took as it would using steel pens and Higgins Black ink. The original pencils can be seen in my sketch Gallery Uploaded on thsi same date. A commissioned character from the Wilderhom trilogy, an ambassador for her race, Kemsa KelTaq. Kemsa is a felocanid phur, something that I understand is a cougar-fox hybrid humanoid--and she was supposed to be quite stunning. I hope I pulled it off. ;) Original 11x17" Kemsa KelTaq as well as the Wilderhom Universe and the Trilogy itself (Riders of the Mind, Wilderhom, Beyond that Which Divides) are copyright Philip James Eggerding (Cirrel or Brother Jerenn).

Wow, this has been a long time waiting in being uploaded- these were designed as licensable characters for the risd student art sale back in October. From left to right: Kentrosaurus, Stygimoloch, Styracosaurus, Allosaurus, Camarasaurus, and Oviraptor. I tried to choose slightly more interesting dinoaurs than the usual fare seen on kids' merchandise (much as I love Stegos and Tyrannosaurs)... Yeah, I know Allosaurs aren't particularly obscure, but I like 'em. More of this to come in the future.

Awkward by Shoom'lah

Our first assignment in Illustration II this semester was to illustrate a single word, and to do it in a way so that it wasn't blatant nor achingly subtle. The word crocodiles kept cycling through my head- not as the word to illustrate, but as the subject matter- and so I chose "awkward" as my word and came up with the idea of a crocodile businessman bring home a wildebeest friend from work only to find his wife preparing exactly that for dinner. Heh. Awkward.
